Dallas Mavericks stumble at home, 100-87, against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Caleb Martin delivered a season-best 18 points to lead Dallas, as the Mavericks extended their skid to eight straight home losses.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 30 points, while Chet Holmgren added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder, who handed Dallas a setback on Sunday night.
Gilgeous-Alexander continued a remarkable road-game scoring streak, reaching at least 20 points in 59 consecutive road appearances — the longest such run in NBA history. The reigning MVP returned to action after missing nine games with an abdominal strain.
The defending champion Thunder sit at 47-15, just a half-game behind Detroit for the league’s top record and three games ahead of San Antonio for the West’s second seed.
Dallas, missing star rookie Cooper Flagg along with several regulars, posted a season-low in points and watched the NBA’s longest active streak of triple-digit performances end at 41. The team’s record moved to 21-39.
Martin’s 18 points marked his highest-scoring effort since joining Dallas from Philadelphia on Feb. 5, 2025, and it was his first time leading the Mavericks in scoring in 65 games. For Oklahoma City, it was their lowest point total in a win this season, topping a previous low of 101-94 on Oct. 27.
Flagg sat out a seventh straight game due to a sprained left foot. Dallas also missed Naji Marshall (right-finger contusion) and P.J. Washington Jr. (left ankle sprain).
Looking ahead, Mavericks coach Jason Kidd noted Flagg’s likely absence as the team prepares for his first NBA trip back to North Carolina for Tuesday’s game against Charlotte.
Upcoming schedule:
- Thunder at Chicago on Tuesday night.
- Mavericks begin a six-game road swing at Charlotte on Tuesday night.
