Unveiling the Fall 2026 Calvin Klein Collection: A Tale of Restraint and Revolution
Get ready for a fashion journey like no other! Veronica Leoni, the creative mastermind behind Calvin Klein Collection, has crafted an extraordinary lineup for Fall 2026, one that challenges perceptions and celebrates the brand's rich heritage.
The setting for this spectacle was The McCourt within The Shed at Hudson Yards, where rows of red folding chairs created an intimate circle, mirroring the brand's unique business model. Calvin Klein Collection stands as the pinnacle of American luxury, offering designer-priced fashion pieces that are exclusively available at select global retailers and e-commerce platforms, setting it apart from the brand's more widely distributed jeans, underwear, and fragrances.
But this season, Leoni has woven a special thread, connecting the iconic American brand with her own vision. Inspired by Calvin Klein's ad campaigns from the late '70s and early '80s, she embarked on a journey to uncover the brand's foundational beauty and elegance.
"I wanted to challenge the stereotypes associated with Calvin Klein, especially as a child of the '90s. Digging deeper into the brand's roots, I discovered a world of perfection and elegance that still resonates today," Leoni explained.
Her archival exploration led to a fusion of sharp minimalism and an obsession with the body. The result? Long, slender silhouettes with playful back details, showcasing the iconic Calvin Klein logo on bras, or prim midi dresses with contrasting sheer backsides. Leoni described it as a "strong sense of hedonism," evident in the '80s-inspired rolled-up wool jersey T-shirts, skinny tailored pants, and transparent leather trench coats.
However, Leoni also catered to those who prefer a more reserved approach, offering an array of neutral tailored pieces and outerwear options, from everyday leather bombers to sculptural topcoats with exaggerated collars in colorful shearling. Even the occasion wear, featuring sturdy satin dresses and artisanal slipdresses, embraced this idea of restrained elegance.
One of the highlights was Leoni's recreation of the original Calvin Klein 1976 runway jean, a move that should be further explored. It was a nod to the brand's upcoming 50th anniversary and a celebration of Mr. Klein's intelligent take on lifestyle.
"Before Brooke Shields and the iconic 1980 advertisement, before Calvin Klein Jeans took over the airwaves in 1978, Mr. Klein had already crafted a brilliant collection," Leoni said.
And who better to bring this vision to life than the brand's campaign stars themselves? Shields, along with Jennie from Blackpink and the stars of "Tell Me Lies," Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, were all in attendance, embodying the past, present, and future of Calvin Klein.
So, what do you think? Is this collection a bold step forward or a nostalgic trip down memory lane? Leave your thoughts in the comments and let's spark a fashion revolution!
